Summer Faculty-Directed Programs
Caroline is the International Coordinator for all faculty-directed summer programs through the School of International Letters and Cultures, Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions, and ASU Lake Havasu. She works closely with faculty and staff from these schools to develop and implement a wide variety of excursions all over the globe. She can also advise students on these programs and how they meet their academic or career needs.
Prior to joining ASU this December, Caroline completed her MA in International Education Management from Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey CA by completing a practicum as an intern with the Portland State University Study Abroad Office. Then, she became the Coordinator of Multicultural Programs and Changing Global Society at Schreiner University in Texas.
Caroline first became interested in study abroad travelling with a high school group to the UK in 2005. She was determined to go abroad again during her time at Lewis & Clark College, where she majored in East Asian Studies and lived for a semester in Osaka, Japan. Her most memorable experience was her Japanese roommate and how welcomed she felt. In Japan, she also developed a personal passion for social justice, diversity, inclusion and equity that she tries to utilize in every aspect of her career to help students. She loved it so much and got reverse-homesick, so she returned to teach English for three years with the JET Programme.
Caroline is originally from Southern California, and in addition to the above international experiences, has traveled to South Korea, New Zealand, Thailand, Cambodia, Denmark, Iceland, and Canada.
