Barbara currently works with students pursuing Partnership & Exchange program options in Africa (Ghana, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania), the Caribbean (Bonaire, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Turks & Caicos), Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru), Portugal, Spain and Semester at Sea.  A Tempe native, she holds bachelor’s degrees in Spanish and History from ASU.

Barbara first studied abroad in high school when she participated in the Tempe Sister Cities exchange program to Ireland.  During her undergraduate, she studied abroad on an ASU faculty-lead summer program to Latin America, spent a semester studying Spanish in Granada, Spain, and a summer in Ghana where she held an internship with an NGO working with Fair Trade certification.  After graduating from ASU, she returned to a small town in southern Spain where she spent a year teaching English at a bilingual elementary school.

Upon completion of her teaching position, Barbara then moved from Arizona to Maine where she worked as a study abroad advisor for programs in Spain, Portugal, UK, Ireland, and Australia with a non-profit study abroad organization.

Barbara is excited to rejoin the ASU Study Abroad Office team having previously worked in the office both as a peer advisor and intern.  She looks forward to helping you discover your own international experience.
