As the Associate Director of International Health, Safety, and Security in the Study Abroad Office, Dan is responsible for all matters related to the health and safety of ASU study abroad programs and participants. 

Dan began work in the ASU Study Abroad Office as an International Coordinator, advising students and serving as a liaison with academic units to facilitate student participation in study abroad. He has more than fifteen years' experience in international education. He came to ASU from a private study abroad program provider in Tempe, where he served for more than three years, first as a study abroad advisor and then as a university relations coordinator. In that capacity, he traveled the United States, working with colleges and universities to promote study abroad opportunities for undergraduate students. Dan has undergraduate degrees in French and Jewish studies from Indiana University and has studied abroad once in France and twice Israel. He is also a proud ASU alumnus, having completed a master's degree in Intercultural Communication at ASU's Hugh Downs School of Human Communication.
