This information is updated for the 2019 Study Abroad Planning Scholarship cycle. Please note: ASU students who qualify for the ISA Planning Scholarship will be invited to apply in mid-March 2019. If an ASU student receives the ISA Planning Scholarship, the student will have five (5) semesters to use it after his/her freshman year.
ISA planning scholarships provide first generation college students with the opportunity to also be the first to study abroad by reducing the financial barrier that may prevent some students from considering study abroad.
Studying abroad is frequently cited as a milestone in a student’s personal development. Having the opportunity to explore different cultures not only teaches you about someone else’s culture, but also about your own. Students who are the first in their family to attend college also have the incredible opportunity to be the first in their family to ever study abroad while in college—or perhaps ever at all! As the first person in your family to be presented with such a unique opportunity, ASU wants to make sure you have additional funding opportunities to make your dream a reality.
All ISA Study Abroad Planning Scholarships awarded are conditional upon your full participation in an approved ISA study abroad program. If you withdraw from your program, for any reason (voluntary or involuntary), awards may be revoked. If your award is revoked after funds have been disbursed to you, you will be billed for the amount of the award through your ASU student account.
