The W. P. Carey School of Business offers students the unique opportunity to take ACC 240: Uses of Accounting II, taught in English by an ASU professor, in scenic Castellanza, Italy. ACC 240 is a required course of all business majors, to be taken after completion of ACC 230. Participating in this program allows students to internationalize their undergraduate experience while completing required coursework ahead of schedule. Generally students take ACC 240 in their third semester at ASU.

Castellanza is a small town located a short train ride from Milan, which is the capital of sophisticated Italian design and a major tourist and cultural attraction. The region around Castellanza is not only one of the most beautiful in Europe, it is also a highly productive and dynamic business environment based on small and medium-sized firms that compete globally on the basis of their quality and design.
Students will have ample opportunity to explore Italy and adjacent countries on the weekends.
Eligibility
Students must have completed with a "C" or better (or be currently enrolled in and complete with a "C" or better) ACC 230 or a Financial Accounting course as a pre-requisite. This course is open to non-business majors who meet this criteria. Applications and a $275 non-refundable deposit are due on or before March 21, 2008. Applications received after that date will be considered on a space available basis.
Academic Program
This course introduces the uses of accounting information focusing on the evolution of the business cycle and how accounting information is used for internal and external purposes.
This course will be taught in English by an ASU Accountancy professor.

Living Accommodations
Students will live in the university's modern dormitory (two students per suite in a shared room and connected bathroom, communal kitchen facilities, cleaning and linen change twice weekly).
Cost Information
The cost of $1740 (subject to possible change) includes pick-up to/from Milan airport, welcome and farewell receptions and orientation session, three meals per day on campus Monday-Thursday (breakfast only Friday-Sunday), housing, and course related company visits. Not included: ASU Tuition and fees, airfare, some meals, passport fees, school supplies/textbook, personal expenses, and W. P. Carey School of Business program fee of $125, if applicable.
The Program may allow for time which can be spent in non-Program activities. Participants may wish to travel, sightsee or participate in activities or events in which they have a personal interest. Please note that the participant is fully responsible for making arrangements and for all costs of transportation, lodging, food and additional expenses that may be associated with any non-Program activities.
