More Information

Locations

CAMBRIDGE
Cambridge is a picturesque city on the River Cam about ninety miles northeast of London. The city itself has a long, eventful history and has been famous as a university city since 1231. Its thirty-plus colleges provide a magnificent historic and architectural backdrop to the study of medieval and Renaissance culture. Cambridge is on a main train line, so cities such as London, Bath, York, and Edinburgh are easily accessible. Students will have ample opportunity to travel on their own throughout the British Isles and/or other European destinations.

ST. CATHARINE'S
St. Catharine's ("Catz" for short) was founded in the 15th century and is situated on King's Parade, in the center of town and within walking distance of a multitude of amenities. Students lodge at either the Catz or St. Chad's residence halls.

Eligibility

This program is open to all ASU undergraduate and graduate students, as well as students from other universities (regardless of major) and non-degree students (proof of measles immunization required). Preference is given, however, to students taking courses for credit or taking research hours. Students should be aware that many of the mandatory excursions will involve vigorous walking, climbing stairs, and negotiating crowded cobbled streets or the London Underground. Participants should be willing and prepared to adapt to a different environment and culture. Applications and a $275 non-refundable deposit are due on or before February 4, 2008. If more applications are received than there is space available, selection will be based on additional criteria, such as class level and GPA.

Academic Program

Courses are offered to undergraduates and graduates, and are cross-listed in several disciplines. In addition, graduate students have the option to register for thesis or research hours and have the unique opportunity to gain access to various British research libraries and archives. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Please select two courses (6 credit hours) from the listing below:
