The focus of the program at these two locations will be marine and coastal tourism, as well as ethnic and heritage tourism development issues. Sydney is a major modern metropolitan city that offers vast opportunities to examine urban tourism, destination promotion, marketing and policy issues. Fiji is a developing country with a significant tourism industry based on island and cultural tourism resources. It provides a case study of the large number of microstates in Micronesia and Polynesia.
